Poking my eyes a lot now I have new contact lenses. But being able to see into the distance without apparatus on my face is amazing.
Listening while I work to all things LANKS. I love this guy, you can listen to his stuff here. My real favourite right now is this song.
Eating marshmallows. All the marshmallows. I’ve had to resort to putting them into tiny bowls to limit my intake.
Stalking the Boots website until the small black Fitbit Charge HRs come back in stock. I have enough points that I can buy one outright without spending a penny! Why wouldn’t I?! I’ve dithered for too long. That activity tracker will be mine!
Experimenting with my new recipes. Some successes (broccoli sesame pasta, pictured in some weird lighting), some failures (lemon chicken sauce – the chicken was good, the sauce was like biting into a whole lemon).
Trying a new trip app called Wipolo. It skims data from your emails and automatically generates trip itineraries for you, pulling out important info like times, seat numbers etc. It then gives you notifications at helpful times reminding you of said details. So far I’m giving it a cautiously positive review – it doesn’t do everything, but it’s pretty decent. I found it randomly through my AccorHotels app so I’m wondering if they’re a subsidiary?
Listening while I walk, potter, commute or any activity I can reasonably do whilst plugged in to my earphones to Easy by Tammara Webber. So far I’m gripped.
Booking all sorts of trips and holidays. I need to stop before the bank come to my house and calmly and quietly remove all my cards from me.
Wondering whether this is a fish, or a duck?
(It’s an ornament from the house we were staying in Rutland Water, seeing as you didn’t ask)
Creating some Spring goals. I need to get those clothes on eBay, you guys.
Missing those of my friends who I haven’t seen in ages. Being a grownup sucks sometimes. Still, at least I’m seeing one of them this weekend.
Worrying that perhaps I’ve been a little overscheduled at work. I’ve been booked onto four projects over the next two months, each of which requiring different numbers of days per week during different weeks. The upshot is I’m pretty sure I’ve been scheduled in for more than 5 days a week for a couple of weeks in there… So we’ll see how that one goes.
So, do you think it’s a fish or a duck?
-Rachel
It has to a duck, right? It has a bill, but the tail looks like a fish’s tail! Hooray for scheduling trips! That’s always the perfect way to help me get through busy times, knowing that I have somewhere exciting that I’ll be going to soon!
I mean duck was my first reaction, but then I got a bit thrown by the tail. And then the longer you look at it the longer the neck could actually be some sort of crazy mouth/eye situation…. And at that point I started to wonder what I was doing with my life.
I’m so excited for all my trips planned, it’s definitely helping me through the busy patch!
My vote is for a duck. I think. LOL. I need to start booking some trips and vacations!!! Are you a new contact lens wearer??? I ask because I have been wearing glasses since college and thinking about getting contact lenses now but I am scared lol.
I am a brand new contact lens wearer, one week in and going strong. I highly, highly recommend it. Make sure you set aside enough time to get fully comfortable with the putting in and taking out – it took me like, 2 hours sat in the opticians fishing around in my eyeballs to get half good at it. Then practising at home felt easy in comparison! It really wasn’t as bad as I thought, I’d encourage giving it a go 🙂
Is it a swimming/floating duck? Like what a duck would look like in the water if you were looking down on it? Ha!
I am jealous of your holiday booking! I’m wishing we were planning our next adventure!
I mean really who knows? Perhaps it represents the futile struggle for life and the ultimate hopelessness of the human existence…?
I think it’s probably just a duck.
The holiday booking has been ace, I’m on such a roll. I have a feeling I’m going to forget to book something crucial though and it’s all going to go horribly wrong. Hopefully not!
I ALWAYS have the same fears. I’m like “I feel so organised but surely I could have missed something????”
Ohh that app sounds very handy! I also definitely recommend a fitbit, I really love mine! And definitely a duck!
Jasmin Charlotte
It’s great so far, really good to see everything in once place rather than hunting around in my emails or over various apps the whole time. It even synced with my AirBnB app and picked up reservations I had there. Nifty.
Which fitbit do you have? What do you find it most helpful for? I’m on a massive fact finding mission as my husband is sceptical that I’ll actually use a fitbit for more than a month….!
I love sesame pasta! YUM YUM YUM 🙂
It was actually delicious! Strangely enough I’ve never had it before, because I feel strange using pasta and not noodles. Turns out pasta works brilliantly!
New contacts are always the worst, it always took me a few days to break them in.
I’m glad it’s not just me! I’m getting much quicker already, although it still makes me cry…!
Hi! Thank you for testing and recommending Wipolo! We are always very attentive to feedback so do not hesitate to drop us an email (support@wipolo.com) or tweet us @wipolo 🙂
Ooh thanks! I do have some feedback actually (eg can you merge trips if Wipolo thinks they’re different trips but they’re actually the same? For example in the case of a road trip) so I will send you an email.
Ok, we look forward hearing from you! (Meanwhile, just to let you know, you can merge trips on our website by clicking on “settings” next to your trip name).
Talk to you soon!
lol def a duck. also that recipe looks amazing! now i’m hungry haha. happy weekend!
xoxo cheshire kat
Whoops sorry. It was very good pasta (but I don’t think I’m helping…). Happy weekend to you too! What’s left of it!
Is that fish/duck hybrid like the rabbit/duck photo? Where what you see reveals something about you? haha!
That broccoli sesame pasta looks so tasty! And the overly lemon sauce is the only reason I’ll eat lemon chicken when we are out but never attempt it at home. I’d mess it up for sure!
Away From The Blue Blog
Yes I think it is! I’m secretly analysing everyone’s responses 😉
The pasta was very tasty and so easy as well. It’s going on my meat free days rotation. I think the sauce issue was because I just freestyled it. I might try and dig out an actual recipe for next time!
I love how you limit your marshmallow intake…I just eat the whole packet and then think…hmmm maybe that wasn’t the best idea. I’ve got a huge pile of clothes in the back bedroom that I need to list on eBay…there are so many nicer things to be photographing than clothes…urgh need to do it as I know I could squirrel the money away for Peru xx
I have to! Because I’ve eaten the whole packet too many times and the back flab bears testament to that. I think that’s the motivation that will get me photographing things that no longer fit due to aforementioned back flab – holiday spending money!
The broccoli sesame pasta looks delicious, as do the marshmallows!
It was, and whilst I doubt you’d find that pairing on any menu in the world, I think it worked quite well!
A duck, definitely a duck! I think I’d have loved your pasta – can’t have too much lemon, in my view.
But the tail…. the tail is so fishy!
Ordinarily I’m a huge fan of lemon, but this was super bitter like biting into the outside of a raw lemon. Not even sharp, just unpleasant. But it was an experiment, and if you don’t try you’ll never know! That’s what I keep telling myself anyway.
fish duck! haha. i use a similar app thing called trip it, but eh. i like myself more than that app or website so i don’t really use it. but i might use yours if you super recommend it. that pasta looks good, but ew to whole lemons no thanks. jealous you can buy a fitbit without spending any real money! i LOVED Easy. hope you do too!
I’d combine the words but that would be quite rude…. I just looked up Tripit and it looks really good too – from what I can tell, Wipolo does for free some of the things Tripit makes you pay for, but Tripit has more features (that you have to pay for). So probably much of a muchness really. I’ll let you know how I go.
And I just finished Easy – so good!
