How Not To Pack For A Holiday

Apparently I seem to be continuing my theme of being a total last minute lassie. With a couple of hours before the taxi arrives for the airport, here’s what my bag looks like:

Booksbooksbooks

These books were selected for me by my sister, who should definitely have a career as a Book Consultant. You tell her what type of thing you’re looking for; an occasion, or a genre, or something specific eg a book about a girl who has a kitten. She thinks for a while, then vanishes to her room, whereupon she reappears with an armful of books and talks you through a brief synopsis of each. You’re then free to borrow whichever you please.

I’ve chosen Beth Chatto’s Garden Notebook, Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day by Winifred Watson, and A Beginner’s Guide to Acting English by Shappi Khorsandi. I’ve got some boring work journals too, so all in all I reckon I’m set for my 4 day break.

I’m definitely looking forward to spending some quality time on the coast of Croatia and, shameless plug, if you’d like to come along too you can follow me on Snapchat (anestingnomad), Instagram (@anestingnomad, button over there on the right) or keep an eye out here for the odd photo or two.

Now I should probably go and pack some clothes, too.

See you on the flip side!

Well, as long as you have something to keep you entertained it will be a good trip! 😀

Hope you managed to finish packing in time! I’m terrible for making lists and lists for days and weeks and never actually doing any packing until the last moment. By which point I’ve changed the list so much I start throwing in extra stuff ‘just in case’ which I never use 😛

    Enjoy Croatia!

I definitely had enough to keep me entertained, it was so nice not to be anxious about running out of books! And I did finish packing in time, however happily packed for sunshine when in fact it was fairly rainy… Still, good excuse to stay in and read. I think I’m the same with you and lists – sometimes I start out with the best intentions and it never works. I’m a last minute packer to the core!

Oh no, such a shame it was rainy! Still, good to relax with a good book! 🙂

I always end up waiting until the last minute to pack too! Half of the things that I need to pack are toiletries which I can’t pack until the morning before we leave, so I always wonder what’s the point. Hope you’re having a blast on your vacation!

I know! That makes total sense to me too. I just chuck whatever I used to get ready in the morning in the bag. Can’t fail…. right?! I had a brilliant time thank you, just what I needed xx

Ahhh I wish I could take your approach but I’m just not that organised. You should offer packing consultancy services! I’d definitely be a customer. And yeah, my sister’s the best – and not just for her book collection!
